“NAME THE CACTUS” CONTEST RETURNS FOR SECOND SEASON
A Little Creativity Wins Free Vacation at Luxurious Boulders Resort
CAREFREE, Ariz. (April 7, 2009). If the funny-looking cactus that blanket the Arizona desert remind you of a famous person, a favorite animal or even a neighbor, you have a new opportunity to give them a name and meet them in person. Just one look at the six distinctive cacti at www.theboulders.com and you may be inspired to find the perfect name and win a fabulous trip to The Boulders Resort.
The Boulders Resort & Golden Door Spa, an extraordinary desert hideaway in Scottsdale, Arizona, invite Web site visitors to name one, two or all of the cacti pictured on the website. Winners with the most creative and original monikers will receive a vacation to this compelling resort and destination. Contestants are asked to go to www.theboulders.com or www.aaaaz.com/boulders and submit the most creative names for the six cacti. Judges will pick six winners who will receive vacation getaways that include a $500 travel voucher on Southwest Airlines, two night deluxe accommodations, breakfast for two daily and (2) rounds of golf for two people. The contest runs from April 7 -June 1, 2009.
“Due to the tremendous interest we received last year, we plan to offer the contest every summer,” said Managing Director Michael Hoffmann. “It was designed to give some “personality” to the desert cacti that reside on the resort’s 1,300 acres. Last year, we made customized signs with the winning names and they are now permanently displayed in front of each cactus. The contest also inspired our new Desert Photo Safari where our guests capture their own up-close-and-personal photos with the desert animals and plant life.”
The “Name The Cactus” contest is sponsored by AAA Arizona, the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau and Southwest Airlines.
