Phoenix, Ariz., April 14, 2009.  Look for a showcase of travel and auto services, maps, insurance options and hundreds of giveaways at AAA Arizona’s upcoming open house at the auto club’s Peoria branch office.

“The open house is a way for us to let our existing members know how much we appreciate them, as well as to introduce ourselves to those in the community who aren’t familiar with our products and services,” said Jim Lehrer, vice president of member experience and distribution for AAA Arizona.

Saturday’s event will include:

  • A grand prize drawing for a $500 AAA Travel gift certificate.
  • Instant prize drawings for travelers who book a package with AAA Travel at the event.
  • Travel planning assistance by knowledgeable AAA Travel agents.
  • The opportunity to sign up for the auto club’s free, award-winning teen driver workshop, Dare to Prepare, scheduled April 29 at the Peoria branch office.

In addition to the grand prize drawing, attendees will also be eligible to win one of more than 50 hourly prizes, including:

The auto club’s open house will also serve as the kick-off to AAA Arizona’s 9th annual Great Battery Roundup, an event held in support of Earth Day. During the roundup, AAA encourages motorists to bring old vehicle batteries lying around their backyard or garage to AAA club-owned or Approved Auto Repair facilities where the batteries will be recycled at no charge to the consumer. For every battery collected during the roundup, AAA Arizona will donate $4 to local environmental organizations.

AAA Arizona, the Arizona affiliate of AAA, provides automotive, insurance and auto travel services to nearly 800,000 Arizona members.  Annually, AAA’s Emergency Road Service responds to more than 450,000 calls for help on the streets and highways of the state as well as providing insurance, travel, and financial services to AAA members and motorists.  Since its founding in 1927, AAA Arizona has been a leading advocate for the safety and security of all travelers.
